Privacy

This is a private validation build, served with noindex at the meta and header level. We are not collecting accounts, we are not building marketing profiles, and we do not sell personal data.

What we process now

• Your test answers are stored in your browser's sessionStorage. They never leave your device.
• Breed-check answers, share state, and navigation memory may also use browser storage so the product can function.
• Anonymous analytics events: which screens you reach, which CTAs you click, and qualitative feedback (Spot on / Kind of / Way off).
• If you choose to enter an email, we only forward the domain (e.g. @gmail.com) to analytics — never the address itself.
• If you leave a free-text comment on “Way off,” the text is not sent anywhere — only a boolean indicating you provided one.

What we do not keep

• We do not store your raw email address.
• We do not track you across other sites.
• We do not autocapture every interaction — every analytics event is explicit.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not share quiz answers, scores, or breed results with affiliate partners.

Optional email features

Some validation screens include optional email fields to measure interest. In the current validation build, no emails are sent and the raw address is not stored by the app. Future opt-in features, such as a real checklist delivery or newsletter, may require email processing and must update this policy before launch.

Analytics and providers

PerfectDogMatch may use hosting, deployment, analytics, and email providers to operate the service. GA4 or PostHog may load only when configured for the environment. Before public launch, non-essential analytics should be covered by a cookie and consent flow where required.

Affiliate links

Future product links may earn a commission. Affiliate relationships do not affect breed scoring, compatibility estimates, or result logic. See our Affiliate disclosure.

Retention

Browser-stored answers remain on your device until your session ends, your browser clears them, or you use the reset link below. Analytics retention depends on the configured provider. Public email or newsletter retention rules must be documented before those features go live.

Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal data. Public contact details for these requests will be added before public launch on the Contact page.

Children and professional advice

PerfectDogMatch is not directed to children. The product does not provide veterinary, medical, legal, behavioral diagnosis, or guaranteed compatibility advice. Individual dogs vary.

Reset

You can clear local state at any time by visiting /?reset=1. This wipes any pdm_* keys from sessionStorage and localStorage.
